Emmert International’s purchase of Stone Ridge Golf Club in November 2018 has proven to be a tremendous step in the right direction for the Rogue Valley golfing community. The company inherited a facility that was in need of some T.L.C., and has taken on an aggressive renovation to return the course to its original splendor.
Since the beginning, Stone Ridge Golf Club has been known for having the most character in Southern Oregon, if not the state.
According to owner, Terry Emmert, the course is just a part of what he calls giving back. “This facility has so much potential, not only for the golfing community, but for the local economy. The Rogue Valley is a great place with great people. Our company has been blessed over the years, and it’s only natural for us to give back wherever we can.”
Stone Ridge Golf Club was honored with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Award with the 2023 Outstanding Citizen Award. Their continued involvement with programs that benefit the community contributed to receiving this award. Some programs that contributed to the civic involvement are the local VA golf programs, The Southern Oregon Veterans Appreciation Tournament, PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Golf Clinics, David’s Chair Para Golfcart participant, and the staff’s community involvement. Also contributing to the award was PGA General Manager Vince Domenzain winning the Pacific Northwest Section PGA prestigious Patriot Award.
Course improvements include a new irrigation pump with an integrated fertilization system, and extensive repairs to the existing irrigation lines. Additional maintenance personnel with new equipment are busy clearing overgrown areas, and enhancing fairways, greens and bunkers. Timely aeration, fertilization and seeding are also in place to improve turf conditions. “The course not only looks better now, but it plays better, too,” says General Manager Vince Domenzain.
Future projects include repaving cart paths, visual enhancement of existing creeks and ponds, and improving playability of the course. Major improvements to the practice facility and an event pavilion near the club house are also in the works.
